Wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin

Brow lift with botulinum toxin in Wolfsburg

A brow lift with botulinum toxin gently raises the eyebrows and opens up the gaze – entirely without surgery. At our Wolfsburg practice, physician Rafee El Kaddour uses the interplay of the muscles around the brow: when the downward-pulling muscles are relaxed, the lifting forehead muscle can raise the brow a little. The effect is deliberately subtle.

How does a botulinum-toxin brow lift work?

Several muscles around the eyebrow pull it downward (including the outer eye-ring muscle and the glabellar muscles). When these depressors are selectively relaxed, the pull of the lifting forehead muscle prevails and the brow rises slightly – usually one to two millimetres. The result is a more open, alert gaze.

The brow lift is not a separate “product” but a deliberate play of opposing muscles: the brow is lifted from above (frontalis) and pulled down from below (the glabellar complex and the lateral part of the eye-ring muscle). When we relax the depressors precisely, the lifting force gains the upper hand. The lateral part of the brow in particular can be positioned more finely this way.

Honesty is decisive here: the achievable lift is subtle, usually one to two millimetres. It refreshes the gaze and looks more open, but does not replace a surgical brow lift for clearly dropped brows or pronounced excess skin. Anyone expecting a strong elevation will not be satisfied with botulinum toxin alone – we say so clearly in advance.

The technique requires experience and judgement. If the lateral forehead muscle is relaxed unevenly, an overly raised outer brow can result (colloquially “Spock brow”). If the area treated is too large or too deep, a heavy lid or a lowered brow arch may follow. We therefore dose in fine gradations and review the result with a touch-up if needed.

Procedure & duration

How the treatment works

  1. 01Free analysis of your brow position, symmetry and forehead movement
  2. 02Defining which depressors to relax and which lifting parts to spare
  3. 03Very fine, precise injections at a few targeted points
  4. 04Deliberately subtle dosing; a review after two weeks if needed
  5. 05Duration: about 10–15 minutes, typically with no downtime
Results & longevity

Results & longevity

The lift develops over about one to two weeks, as it arises from the changed muscle balance. The result is deliberately subtle: a more alert, open gaze and a slightly higher lateral brow. Results usually last three to four months.

Results are individual and may vary. Before/after images show real treatments and are published only with the patient’s explicit consent.

Safety & guidance

Risks & side effects

Risks & side effects

  • Common and temporary: mild redness or a small bruise at the injection site.
  • With uneven relaxation of the lateral forehead muscle: an overly raised outer brow (“Spock brow”) – readily corrected with a fine adjustment.
  • With treatment that is too extensive or too deep: a heavy feeling in the brow or upper lid, in extreme cases a drooping lid – temporary and avoidable with conservative dosing.
  • Rare: slight asymmetry, as the two sides of the face can respond differently.
  • Please contact us if you notice increasing lid heaviness or changes in vision.

Aftercare

  • Do not rub or massage the forehead and brow area for the first few hours
  • Keep your head upright for about 4 hours; do not lie down
  • No sport, sauna or tanning for 24 hours
  • Judge the final result only after about two weeks – the lift builds up gradually

Who is it for?

Suitable if you would like a discreetly more open gaze and a slightly higher lateral brow. For clearly dropped brows or pronounced excess skin, a surgical brow lift is the more effective option – and we tell you so honestly.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does a botulinum-toxin brow lift really lift?

Usually one to two millimetres, mainly at the lateral brow. The effect refreshes the gaze but is deliberately subtle and not a substitute for surgery.

What is a “Spock brow” and can it be fixed?

An unintentionally over-raised outer brow. It arises from uneven treatment of the lateral forehead muscle and is readily corrected with a small, targeted adjustment.

How long does the brow lift last?

Usually three to four months. The effect can then be maintained with a top-up.

What does a brow lift cost in Wolfsburg?

Botulinum-toxin treatments start from €119, depending on the amount needed. The first consultation is free.
