Jawline contouring with hyaluronic acid in Wolfsburg
A jawline contouring with hyaluronic acid defines the jaw line and sharpens the lower face at our Wolfsburg practice. A crisp jawline makes the face look firmer and more harmonious – both for a softer contour and to emphasise a strong jaw. Physician Rafee El Kaddour contours precisely along the mandible and matches the result to your face shape.
How does jawline contouring work?
A firm hyaluronic-acid gel is placed along the mandible – from the chin to the jaw angle. It traces the contour, defines the transition from cheek to neck and can emphasise the jaw angle. We work preferably with a blunt cannula. The result is visible immediately and dissolvable.
The jawline frames the lower face. Over the years or by predisposition the contour can blur and the transition to the neck soften. With a supportive gel along the mandible the line can be redrawn, the jaw angle emphasised and the face framed more distinctly overall.
We use a strongly cross-linked, shape-stable gel and work along the jaw preferably with a blunt micro-cannula. We often combine the jawline with a chin augmentation, because both areas together complement the lower facial frame harmoniously.
The jawline can be contoured softer and more elegant in women, and more pronounced in men – we follow your wishes and proportions. Pronounced skin laxity or a marked double chin cannot be fixed with filler alone; here we advise honestly on sensible alternatives.
How the treatment works
- 01Free introductory appointment and an initial look at your jaw line and lower facial contour
- 02Marking of the path from chin to jaw angle
- 03Contouring preferably with a blunt micro-cannula along the bone
- 04Local anaesthetic on request; many gels already contain a local anaesthetic
- 05Duration: about 30–40 minutes, usually with no downtime
Results & longevity
The result is visible immediately; once mild swelling subsides (a few days) the final contour appears. As the jawline is a calm area and usually treated with a firm gel, hyaluronic acid generally lasts about 12 to 18 months here. A pronounced contour may require several millilitres depending on the starting point.
Results are individual and can vary depending on your starting point, muscle activity and dosing. You will receive a realistic assessment for your situation in a personal consultation.
Risks & side effects
Risks & side effects
- Common and temporary: swelling, tenderness and small bruises along the jaw.
- Occasionally: palpable unevenness or asymmetry between the two sides, usually easy to balance out.
- Rare: an overly massive or “boxy” jaw with too much volume – avoidable with gradual dosing.
- Very rare but serious: vascular occlusion if filler enters a vessel – relevant around the facial artery at the jaw. We therefore treat preferably with a blunt cannula and keep the antidote hyaluronidase and an emergency protocol ready; hyaluronic acid is dissolvable.
- Contact us immediately in case of severe or increasing pain, pale/blotchy skin discolouration or changes in vision.
When should treatment be avoided?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Active infection or inflammation in the jaw and neck area
- Known allergy to hyaluronic acid or components of the gel
- Tendency to lumpy/keloid scarring or an active autoimmune condition in an inflammatory phase – we weigh these up individually
- A marked double chin (submental fat deposit) or pronounced skin laxity – filler redraws the contour but does not remove fat or tighten loose skin; here we advise on more suitable alternatives
Aftercare
- Do not massage or press the jaw line firmly for 24–48 hours (unless instructed)
- No intense sport, sauna or tanning for the first 24 hours
- Briefly avoid pressure from a tight mask, helmet strap or leaning on the area
- Cooling eases swelling; alcohol and blood thinners promote bruising
Who is it for?
Suitable when the jaw line looks soft or undefined and you want a defined lower face. Filler redraws the contour and emphasises the jaw angle; pronounced skin laxity or a marked double chin cannot be fixed this way.

Frequently asked questions
How much filler does a jawline need?
It depends greatly on the starting point and your wishes. A visible contour often needs several millilitres; we build up gradually and in a controlled way.
Can jawline filler shift or migrate?
With correct technique and a suitable amount, the firm gel stays along the bone where it is set. Visible migration usually results from excessive amounts or too superficial placement – which is why we dose gradually and place deep. If needed, hyaluronic acid can be dissolved again with hyaluronidase.
Is jawline treatment also suitable for men?
Yes, the jawline is a frequently requested treatment in men. We contour it more pronounced and straighter than the usually softer, more elegant line in women – always matched to your proportions. A distinctly masculine contour often requires more volume.
What should I keep in mind after the jawline treatment?
Do not massage or press the jaw line firmly for 24–48 hours, and avoid intense sport, sauna and tanning for the first 24 hours. Briefly avoid pressure from a tight mask or helmet strap. The final result appears once mild swelling subsides – often only fully after about two weeks.
How long does jawline contouring last?
On the calm jaw and with a firm gel usually about 12 to 18 months – longer than on the lips. It can then be refreshed.
Does jawline filler help with a double chin?
A crisp jaw line can visually tighten the profile, but filler does not remove a true fat deposit or loose skin. We advise on alternatives for that.
Do you treat with a needle or a cannula?
Along the jaw preferably with a blunt micro-cannula. It tends to glide past vessels, lowering the risk of bruising and vascular occlusion.
What does jawline contouring cost in Wolfsburg?
Contouring starts from €249 per ml; the total depends on the amount needed. The introductory appointment is free and without obligation.
