The skin on the neck and décolleté is thin, low in sebaceous glands and heavily UV-exposed – so it shows lines often earlier than the face. - Common and temporary: small wheals, redness, swelling or bruises at the injection sites – a little more pronounced on the thin-skinned décolleté.
- Occasionally: palpable unevenness or small nodules, which usually smooth out by themselves or can be evened out.
- Rare: infection or allergic reaction.
- Very rare but serious: vascular occlusion. To lower the risk we treat where possible with a blunt micro-cannula; for an emergency we keep hyaluronidase and a protocol ready, and hyaluronic acid is dissolvable.
Aftercare
- Do not rub or massage the neck and décolleté firmly for 24 hours (unless instructed)
- No intense sport, sauna or tanning for the first 24 hours
- Use sun protection consistently in the coming weeks – the area is UV-sensitive
